The Values Behind the Way We Do Business

If you’ve never worked with us before, it’s easy to think we’re just in the business of moving truckloads of building materials. Every day, we buy and sell B-Grade lumber, OSB, plywood, flooring, roofing and siding—along with seconds and surplus—throughout North America. That’s the mechanics behind what we do.

What keeps customers coming back, though, isn’t the fact that we move inventory. It’s the way we do business.

For more than 25 years, we’ve built our company around relationships. Manufacturers trust us to represent their products and find the right markets for them. Buyers trust us to help them find inventory that fits their needs. Those relationships weren’t built overnight, and they definitely weren’t built on price alone. They were built by showing up, doing what we say we’re going to do and helping customers solve problems when they need us most.

Our core values guide those decisions every day. They aren’t just words on our website. They’re the way we approach every conversation.

Integrity Starts with Honest Conversations

One of the first things we tell new customers is that not every product is right for every application.

If someone calls looking for plywood panels for a project that requires code-approved materials and they’re considering B-Grade, we’ll tell them it’s not the right fit. If another product would better meet their needs, we’ll recommend it. We’d rather earn a customer’s trust than make a sale that creates problems later.

That’s what integrity means to us. It’s doing what’s right, even when no one is watching. Sometimes that means walking away from an opportunity because it’s the correct call for the customer. We’ve found that’s also the best way to build long-term relationships.

Tenacity Means Knowing the Market

The building materials market changes every day. Manufacturers discontinue products. Orders get canceled. Inventory becomes available with very little notice. Those changes create opportunities, but only if someone is faithfully paying attention.

That’s what our traders do every day. They stay in close contact with manufacturers, buyers and transportation partners so they understand what’s happening in the market. The more they know, the more they can help customers make informed purchasing decisions.

Whether it’s finding enough discontinued flooring for a hotel renovation, locating B-Grade OSB for an industrial manufacturer or helping a mom-and-pop hardware store owner take advantage of a surplus truckload opportunity, our team is always looking for ways to help our customers solve problems.

Collaboration Happens One Conversation at a Time

Every successful truckload starts with people working together. A manufacturer may have inventory that no longer fits its sales channel. A buyer may be looking for a specific product. Our Logistics team coordinates transportation while our traders work with both sides to make sure everyone has the information they need.

When those conversations happen early and everyone is working toward the same goal, problems get solved faster and projects stay on track. That’s what collaboration looks like: It isn’t a poster on a wall. It’s people sharing information, asking questions and working together to find the best solution.

Better Ideas Come from Listening

No two customers have exactly the same challenge. One customer may be looking for truckloads of roofing. Another may need lumber for building crates. Someone else may be trying to source discontinued flooring for a multi-property hotel renovation.

That’s why we start by listening. Understanding the application helps us recommend products that fit the project instead of simply quoting whatever inventory happens to be available. We also believe good ideas can come from anywhere. Listening to our customers, our suppliers and each other helps us keep improving the way we do business.

Looking for Better Ways to Create Value

A big part of our business is helping customers see opportunities they might not have considered. A discontinued flooring collection can help a hotel stay within budget. B-Grade roofing can provide an affordable solution for barns, storage buildings and other non-code applications—plus keep valuable materials out of landfills. Downfall lumber can become pallets, crates and packaging instead of being turned into mulch.

Finding those opportunities takes experience, market knowledge and a willingness to look at inventory differently. It also reflects two values that have always been part of our business: innovation and making the most of valuable building materials. Every truckload we help place creates value for manufacturers, buyers and the businesses they serve.

After more than 25 years, our business is still built on the same idea: treat people the right way, know the market, work together and never stop looking for better solutions. That’s what our values look like in practice, and it’s what our customers can expect every time they work with us.

If you’re looking for a partner who understands the building materials market and is committed to helping you solve sourcing challenges, we’d love the opportunity to work with you.
